Maria Meco is a Spanish photographer working across multiple genres. Having being shortlisted and interviewed for Portrait of Britain, Creative Review or Aesthetica Mag Maria's work is also being selected finalist for the Palm Photo Prize 2021.
My work transitions between fiction and reality. Fiction is how I choose to portray the world, a narrative constructed from my vision and intuition. Reality, on the other hand, lies in the emotions that existed long before I met my subjects, those that prompted me to press the shutter.
I'm deeply interested in the intimacy that can arise between strangers, that delicate chemistry that opens the door to a shared vulnerability. Photography allows me to explore that space where emotions flow and stories are silently revealed.
Maria is currently available in London and at times in Madrid, Spain.
